History

In 1957, a small group of people had an extraordinary vision to establish a Christian university in Canada. Services

Student services

A well established Friendship Partner program exists at TWU to provide ESL and North American students with the opportunity to intentionally develop a friendship. In addition, there are many programs, formal and informal, which provide for cross-cultural exchange and increase global awareness on campus. At present there are three International Fellowship Groups available to students who wish to study the Bible and fellowship in their native tongue (Mandarin, Korean and Japanese), as well as several different English speaking Bible studies. 

Housing services

Available accommodations fall under two broad categories—environmental and learning—and include, but are not limited to, the following types of provisions:

Environmental:

  • Accessible tables and chairs.
  • Classroom seating arrangement.
  • Parking accessibility.
  • Technology and equipment support.
  • Writing exams in a quiet and distraction-reduced setting.

Learning:

  • Course materials in alternate forms.
  • Reduced course load.
  • Note-taking.
  • Recording.
  • Use of technological support (i.e. computer, educational software applications, spell check, calculator).
  • Exam accommodations (i.e. extra time, use of technological support, ability to write in the exam centre). 

Library services

More than 225,000 print holds, 180,000 electronic books, and 13,600 electronic journals at the main campus’ Norma Marion Alloway Library. The Library is a member of the BC ELN, eHLbc, COPPUL and CRKN consortia and participates in the provincial AskAway virtual reference service.

Medical services

Although usually a healthy time of life, the University years can have their share of illness or injury. If you are away from home, or don’t have a family Doctor, it’s nice to know that our doctors and nurse are here to help. Our guiding principle is to provide you the care we would want if we were the patient - to cure sometimes, relieve often, and comfort always.

Student Life

Campus life

Trinity Western University is a 157-acre campus located outside Langley, BC, Canada. Its location is 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver and an hour from the North Shore mountains. 

TWU Bellingham offers accelerated degree completion programs that allow students to complete a bachelor’s degree in approximately 24 months. 

Our newest campus is built in the heart of Richmond as part of a new complex that will also include townhouses, five towers, and a community centre. 

Sports facilities

The TWU Fitness Centre & David Enarson Gymnasium offer exercise and fitness spaces as well as, a full gym, bouldering (climbing) wall and newly renovated locker rooms with showers. Outdoor facilities include: three tennis courts, sand volleyball courts and sport fields.

On-campus recreational facilities include a full gym, playing fields and tennis courts. A variety of fitness classes are held in Robson Hall. In addition, Recreation Services offers a variety of team sports for students of all levels of ability.

Friendly and supportive environment, amazing professors and programs. I really loved my program and professors, I was always inspired and they were all so amazing. The environment and sight itself of campus is beatiful and so mesmerizing. The only thing I didn't like was sodexo - the cafeteria and in-campus housing. If I had a car I would definitely go commute. Overall...
