History
Hubei University traces its origin back to 1931 starting from what was then Hubei Provincial College of Education, established with approval from the national government and with Mr. Huang Jianzhong as first Director.
Education
Hubei University has set up academic exchange and cooperation programs with about 150 universities and research institutes in 35 countries and regions. It has co-established three Confucius Institutes with the University of Memphis in the USA, Sao Paulo State University in Brazil, University of Sao Tome and Principe respectively, and one Confucius Classroom with Jagiellonian College in Poland

After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.
The University has been accredited with three international joint education programs by Ministry of Education and Hubei Provincial Department of Education, namely, Electronic Information Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology and Hotel Management.
