History
- In 1958, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) was established under the leadership of the Ministry of Chemical Industries. The university was then known as the Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology (BICT).
- In October, 1960, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to classify the university as a National Key Institution.
Education
- With half a century of history, BUCT has become a multi-disciplinary university with a solid foundation in science and engineering, as well as other distinctive disciplines such as management, economics, law, literature, education, philosophy, medical sciences. The university is a multi-level training system for undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and students from foreign countries. Since its establishment, BUCT has trained more than 100,000 people for China.
Research
- After years of research and development, the school has established more than 30 national and provincial research and development institutions, including 2 national key laboratory, 1 national engineering technology research center, 1 national engineering laboratory, 10 provincial and ministerial key laboratories, 16 provincial, ministerial engineering (technology) research center, and research base.
