Chung-Ang University is a private institution with 30,000 students and 982 faculty members. It consists of 10 undergraduate colleges and 16 graduate schools. It operates two campuses, in Seoul and Anseong, Korea.

  • The history of CAU began with the establishment of Chung-Ang Kindergarten as an annex to Chung-Ang Methodist Church at Insa-Dong, Seoul in April 1918. Since the Japanese invasion in 1910, many precursors have regarded educational institutions as a way to liberate the nation.

Student services

  • OIA is a core division of administration for developing and managing international initiatives and international partnerships for CAU. OIA also manages the entire academic progress of international students from the admission process to graduation in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Our primary goal is to integrate international education into the University's academic programs, helping both domestic and foreign students to enhance their cross-cultural knowledge, leadership expertise, and linguistic competency to cope with the grand challenges of global world. 

Housing services

The most advanced and among the best university dormitories in Korea, Blue Mir Hall was built using Mondrian abstract art that balances symmetry and order and is one of the newest landmarks of Chung-Ang University. This residential building is surrounded by a small natural forested environment. The building is equipped with the state of the art air conditioning and heating system, wireless high speed internet access, a large dining area, fitness center, cafe and a lounge.

Library services

The Central Library at Seoul (about 11,570 m²) houses 1,000,000 books and 4,000 different domestic and overseas periodicals. It features a variety of facilities, such as 2,000-seat study halls, online-information rooms, and audio-visual centers.

Student Life

Campus life

Every building has a study room, a computer room, a seminar room, and a lounge, and there is free Internet access in each room. Also, there is a fitness room and a lounge equipped with computers with Internet connection, a free photocopier, and a refrigerator at the Student Welfare Center.

The theater Cine-house, equipped with a 200-inch screen and sound facilities, is open for presentations and performances during the week and shows movies on weekends. Also, there is a driving range, a tennis court, a convenience store, an optical store, and a cosmetics store.

Overall very good university. It's pretty prestigious in South Korea. Professors are great, facilities are great (except for humanity department). I enjoyed studying here with other students working hard and passionately.
