History
Universidad de los Andes was founded in 1948, and it was the first private university in Colombia that was independent from political or religious movements or parties. It was conceived as a study center, a research center, and a place where truth could be upheld

The Universidad de los Andes offers programs in the following levels:

There are 143 research groups that are registered by Colciencias, 39 of which are in category A1, 17 are in category A, 29 are in category B, 44 are in category C, 12 are in category D, and 2 have not been classified.

University Ranking
Housing services
Located in front of the Universidad de Los Andes, which offers 1.713 rooms distributed in apartments of 1, 2 and 4 rooms. The apartments are fully furnished with: bed, mattress, desk, chair, closet and bookshelf; common areas of the apartment are furnished with dining table, mini fridge, microwave oven, induction stove. Throughout the tower, there are 7 study halls and entertainment rooms exclusively for our residents.
Library services
As a student at the Universidad de los Andes, you are allowed to use one of the most modern library systems in Latin America. The system is made up of five specialist libraries in the fields of Business, Architecture and Design, Law, Economics, and Medicine, and the “Ramón de Zubiría” General University Library.
Campus life
Los Andes offers within its campus different services in order to provide the conditions that create a favorable atmosphere for the University´s activities development. These services are available to the campus users (students, faculty, staff, alumni, visitors and contractors); the facilities available in the campus and their localization within it are:

Student clubs
You will study at a university that promotes diversity, the ability to understand different points of view, and the respect for ideas. It has an environment that is dedicated to academic life and hosts cultural, sporting, and wellbeing activities as well as student clubs and societies.
University of the Andes is the only private university in Colombia with a Colombian National Education Ministry Quality Accreditation renewed for the maximum possible time of 10 years (Resolution 582 of January 9th, 2015). Uniandes also has four QS Quality Stars of five possible, given by British firm Quacquarelli Symonds.
