To contribute to Québec’s scientific development through research
- In addition to its primary educational mission, the Université du Québec network actively promotes Québec’s scientific development through research and participation in international research networks. Member universities pay particular attention to innovations in science and technology sectors linked to Québec’s specific territorial, economic, and social realities. Independent basic, applied, and participatory research promoting the acquisition and advancement of knowledge is central to Université du Québec’s mission.
To participate in Québec’s regional development- To foster regional vitality and sustainability, Québec relies on effective, province-wide land occupancy strategies that promote synergies between rural areas and major urban centers. Firmly rooted in their communities, Université du Québec institutions attract and retain a critical mass of researchers, professors, and students in fields aligned with the universities’ individual strengths. This encourages the creation of regional clusters and specialty niches that drive development and stimulate entrepreneurial activity.
