About

History

  • Ewha was founded by a Methodist missionary called Mary F. Scranton in 1886.
  • 1910, the College opened at Ewha Haktang with 15 students; its inaugural class graduated in 1914.
  • 1925 The College was elevated to Ewha College, making it the first institute of higher education for Korean women.
  • 1935 The new campus in Sinchon marked Ewha College’s first step toward becoming a world-class university.

Research

Center for Multiculture Research has been established to conduct academic research, education, and policy development in order to improve cultural rights in line with a multicultural age and a culturally diverse "global" society. The Institute also contributes to the community strategy that respects multicultural values. Our aim is to identify professors and research institutes who study or conduct projects on multicultural areas, band them together, support them, and collaborate with them to maximize the Institute’s capabilities.

Services

Student services

The Student Service Center provides free online legal advice on various kinds of problems that could occur from life in Korea through professional lawyers who are graduates of Ewha for foreign students and faculty currently in Korea.

Housing services

Ewha has three types of dormitories which will provide you with an opportunity to experience various cultures with students from over 80 countries. Ewha dormitory accommodates approximately 1,700 students and has common-use facilities for academic, recreational, and cultural activities. Dormitories will be assigned according to students' admitted programs.

ICT services

Information portal for the first time in the system login or directly related to installation when you select a program is automatically installed on your PC. However, depending on the user's PC security settings, the installation will automatically be blocked.

Medical services

The University Health Center is a student welfare organization that provides student with health and medical care services to keep the campus healthy. Services provided include health care, medical treatment, environmental hygiene, and health education.
