Hereford College of Arts

The College was first established in the centre of Hereford in the 1850s. Since then, it has grown to offer a whole host of courses and qualifications to local, national and international students.

Herefordshire is unique in that it’s a rural county – you could hop on a bus in the City Centre, and before you know it, be deep within the countryside.

The location, views and environment make Herefordshire a fantastic source of inspiration for living and work; the countryside, heritage, variety of built environments, the river, sports, people and organisations all offer some great sources for project work. The crime rate in Herefordshire is very low, making the County a very safe place to live.

Heritage is a huge part of the Herefordshire environment, with castles, stately homes, black and white houses, churches, the Cathedral and a host of museums to be explored. The county is famous all over the world for its cattle and cider, as well as historical artefacts - including the world's largest existing medieval map, the Mappa Mundi.

Our Social Life section tells you more about pubs, clubs and leisure activities on offer - there are some great pubs and restaurants in Herefordshire, many offering the incredible locally sourced food that Hereford is renowned for. If you're looking to stay active through sports like skating or at the gym, we have lots of information about Sport & Leisure in the county.
