Housing services
All residents have full access to communal areas complete with TV, Xbox and outdoor spaces for picnics and BBQs. Halls are non-smoking and we ask that you smoke in the designated areas provided.
Loughborough is in the borough of Charnwood, Leicestershire and is a friendly university town surrounded by beautiful countryside in the middle of England.There are excellent transport links to all the major cities in the UK with road, rail, buses and an airport within easy reach. London is just 90 minutes away from Loughborough by train. The College and University are served by a regular shuttle bus running every 10 minutes from the campus to the town centre and on to the train station.The town has a population of around 57,000 together with a large student population. Loughborough and sport go hand in hand and sport is enjoyed by many students. The international standard sporting facilities and many clubs for students to make new friends are popular, lively and enjoyed by many students.Loughborough Student Union (LSU) has been voted the best Student Union for 5 years in succession in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The cost of living in the Midlands is much lower than in Southern England.The town has a mix of traditional and modern buildings. The twice weekly market sells everything from fresh food produce to clothing, shoes, household goods and is located in the town centre on a safe, traffic free street.Queens Park is a large open green park in the centre of Loughborough, with attractive gardens and is a pleasant place to relax with friends. There is a cafe in the park and an aviary with different species of tropical birds. The Carillon clock tower chimes hourly and is the focal point in the park.The high street has many leading retail outlets, banks, chemists and supermarkets as well as smaller shops and boutiques. Eating out is reasonably priced and there are a variety of different menus on offer including Chinese, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Greek, Thai, take aways, and of course, traditional English food!The National Space Centre is also located nearby and has great interactive displays. There are also large open parks and waterways a short bus ride away including Rutland Water, Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill.
