Universidade de São Paulo has an International Cooperation Office whose aim is to promote students, faculty and researchers’ mobility by enhancing cooperation and helping with mobility logistics. Nowadays, USP has over 1,000 international agreements with several institutions all over the world. Students and faculty members enjoy a multicultural environment with people of different cultural backgrounds.
USP does not have housing facilities for exchange students, but there is a listing of accommodation places offered by families and students (enrolled as well as alumni) interested in receiving foreign students at their houses. The exchange students handle their reservation and financial matters directly with the landlords.
The University of São Paulo has 70 libraries installed in various units of education, museums and research institutes on various campi. These libraries make up USP’s Integrated System of Libraries (SIBi).
During the stay in Brazil, the foreigner will be allowed to use the services of the Brazilian Public Health System only in emergency cases. For this reason, USP demands that students obtain a health insurance (travel insurance), which should be purchased at his/ her home country, prior to their arrival in Brazil.
