STUDY PORTALS REVIEW

Study portals transforms challenges into an empowering journey. With offering thousands of programmes across continents,it allows students like me to explore opportunities beyond borders with clarity and confidence. What truly makes it remarkable is the ease of comparison; filters for tuition, location and subject help narrow choices while authentic student reviews provide insight into real experiences. Instead of being lost in endless searches, I could finally focus on aligning my academic goals with institutions that match my vision. Studyportals is more than a website-it is a gateway to possibility,a tool that democratises access to education, and a platform that ensures no dream is limited by confusion or lack of information It's simplicity in guiding decisions reflect the very values of transparency, opportunity and empowerment that scholarships seek to support

Costly but rewarding UvA

I am very pleased with my experience at University of Amsterdam, however I would advise people to really evaluate whether or not they want to attend, if they are international students, because it can be very costly and it is hard to find accommodation.

Average Amsterdam Option

It is an okay school if you want to study in the Netherlands/Amsterdam, but not necessarily the best in any of the faculties I think. For business and economics, prepare to be sent all over the city centre to attend the lectures.

Student services

Current students can find information on all of the following on Blackboard:

  • Academic matters
  • Financial matters
  • Student Life & Well-Being
  • Computer and ICT
  • Frequently Asked Questions

Housing services

Your time at AUC will become a true intercultural and social learning experience. AUC students live and study together on our modern international campus, located in the Science Park Amsterdam. The Science Park's concentration of education, research exploration and enterprise is the perfect academic environment for AUC, as well as being the location of the University of Amsterdam's sports centre and other sport and social facilities.

Library services

The Amsterdam University Library has an impressive stock of approximately four million volumes, and special collections of rare manuscripts, letters and maps. The collection is free for all university staff and students, and spread across 20 locations and a large book depot.

ICT services

All the ICT facilities at AUC, such as a wireless network throughout the academic building, have been set up to enable students to use their own laptops for their studies. There are, therefore, no computer rooms with PCs for student use in the AUC academic building. Therefore, AUC students are expected to bring their own laptops.

Medical services

The USC has a SMA. Here you can visit sports professionals in almost every field. Physiotherapists, dietitian, movement scientists, sports physicians and sports psychologists work side by side in order to help you find the care you need as soon as possible. Choose your care below, contact us, and/or visit a free consultation hour.

Campus life

AUC is situated within the city of Amsterdam. The residential campus is located in Amsterdam Science Park in the Watergraafsmeer neighbourhood of the city, in the borough of Amsterdam Oost (Amsterdam East). The academic building of AUC is also located at Amsterdam Science Park. The academic building was completed in July 2012 and is only a short distance from the student residences. In addition to the classrooms, the building offers study areas, a common room, reading room and cafe. Modern information technology supports all study activities, and students have access to laboratories for any practical work required for their studies.

The AUC learning experience combines studying with cultural and social life.

Sports facilities

Universum Sports Center on campus

  • Furthermore, all AUC students have the opportunity to become members of Universum Sport Center (USC) at sharply discounted rate. The USC is located directly across the AUC academic building and offers fitness facilities and a wide range of classes covering everything from swimming to rock climbing. The USC also has several gyms, a sauna, tanning beds and a sports café called Oerknal.

Student clubs

AUCSA’s committees are the core of the social life at AUC. By and for students, these committees facilitate a wide variety of fun activities. From debating sessions to curry workshops and from epic parties to meditation sessions: there is something for everyone. You can find the list of committees below. Want to start your own? Great! Scroll a bit further down, and you will find the information needed.

Accreditation

Yes, the AUC programme is accredited. The University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam jointly applied for initial accreditation for the AUC programme. The NVAO (the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders) formally accredited the AUC programme on 2 September 2008.
