Rose Bruford College

Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance is London's International Drama School. Students from over 40 different countries study with us on our15 different vocational and professional degree courses, producing over 75 separate productions a year.

The Rose Bruford Training College of Speech and Drama, as it was first known when founded in 1950, was started as an alternative to other London drama schools. It was Rose Bruford's mission to train actors who could teach and teachers who could act. In its early days the College had a commitment to community and theatre in education.

The mission of Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance is to contribute to, value and shape the theatre and performance arts and industries of our times through education, training, research and industry engagement.

Research at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance reflects our institutional distinctiveness: vocationality, diversity, collaboration and international focus. As a university-sector conservatoire thinking and doing are combined to produce practical and applied research, teaching and learning outcomes that heighten our taught disciplines by means of greater reflection.

We put you in front of the profession. Performers get to showcase their talent in public performances and a showcase, where agents and casting directors are invited. Our Design, Management and Technical Arts students show their work to the industry in our annual Graduate Exhibition in Central London.

Campus life

The campus is set in beautiful, Grade 2 listed parkland, with the majestic Lamorbey House which has been home to the College since 1951, and where classes are still held. In the warmer months the College grounds come into their own for learning lines, or just relaxing with friends.

Sports facilities

Sidcup Leisure Centre is a 2 minute walk away from the campus and offers discounts to our students. It has a swimming pool, gym and fitness studios. Sidcup and the surrounding area also has plenty of local sports clubs, scenic walks and cycle paths.

Student clubs

The College’s active Students’ Union organises regular social events throughout the year and there are a number of clubs and societies, which meet regularly and organise further events and activities.
