The university was founded in 1994 as International Management Center GmbH (IMC), after the Fachhochschul-Studiengesetz Act in (University of Applied Sciences Studies Act) 1993 opened the way for private-sector institutions to provide university degree programmes.
Bachelor (undergraduate, 3 years, 180 ECTS) and Master degree programmes (graduate, 2 years, 120 ECTS) with a strong practical and international focus in the fields of business, digitalisation and engineering, health and life sciences.
IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems carries out applied research in the core subject areas of business, health and life sciences in collaboration with companies and other organisations.

At IMC Campus Krems you are almost entirely surrounded by green countryside. Set against Krems’ hillside vineyards, the grounds, with their neat lawns and inviting benches, are a perfect place to relax between lectures. The ambience of the lecture theatres and seminar rooms is equally appealing, and the ample use of glass affords some eye-catching views. From some floors you can see the Danube, Göttweig Abbey and into the Wachau valley.
The Campus Library is conveniently located for everyone in the centre of campus. It has a catalogue of over 50,000 items as well as offering an inter-library lending service. The library, is used intensively by IMC Krems students, and is an indispensible resource for both full- and part-time students.
Campus Krems is actually located in Stein. The town’s real name is Krems and Stein – two towns which have gradually merged into one. Our facilities on Campus Krems are 10 minutes’ walk from the centres of Krems and Stein, and spread across four buildings: Wing G, Wing G1, Wing D and parts of Campus West.
Sports and exercise by the Danube or on campusCycling, inline skating or running – there are plenty of options right on your doorstep.From IMC Campus Krems it’s best to head for the Danube, where the Danube cycle path will take you to Vienna or into the Wachau valley.Stein has a rowing club, and the Wachau valley is the place to go for mountain bikers and climbers.Campus SportCampus Sport offers a wide ranging sports and exercise programme, so it's just a quick hop from lectures to the sports club. Fencing, yoga or badminton? There is something for everyone, and at very reasonable prices.

Overall a very good, modern and well organised university. Although it is very young. It offers many programms and a high diversity in students attending it. The difficulty is definitely manageable, but also keeps you active.

Before I studied here I already studied at a University and there the teacher just cared about the subject and did not know a single thing about the students.
