Environment, Climate & Sustainability
During my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, I developed a deep understanding of how human activities and climate change impact natural ecosystems. Growing up in Chupurson Valley, a remote mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan, I witnessed firsthand the challenges that local communities face due to changing weather patterns, forest degradation, and limited natural resources. This experience inspired me to pursue environmental studies and dedicate my academic journey to understanding and addressing these issues. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I engaged in both theoretical and practical learning. I conducted field surveys, interviewed local residents, and collected data on forest usage, fuel needs, and community livelihoods. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including SPSS for statistical analysis, I was able to analyze the relationship between climate change and forest resources. My thesis focused on the impact of climate change on social forests in Chupurson Valley, highlighting how warming temperatures and changing precipitation patterns affect forest survival and community adaptation strategies. This combination of fieldwork, research, and academic study strengthened my interest in environmental sustainability, climate adaptation, and natural resource management. It also motivated me to further my studies at the international level, where I can gain broader knowledge and research skills to contribute to environmental solutions in vulnerable regions like my own.
The education system in SAFU
The education system is designed for 60% self-study of the material, which is difficult. Some disciplines have been transferred to the distance learning mode. The teaching staff is impeccable, there's nothing to say. In general, teachers treat students loyally, if you are not a truant. There are many opportunities for self-development in Safu. Students are involved in all kinds of activities, fun activities are held.
I enjoy teaching
I have a bachelor degree and this summer I will get a master's degree. I like my university because there are a lot of different events.
