The Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute (IPCB) is a public institution of higher education, whose culture is characterised by the richness of the diversity and uniqueness of each own one of the six schools that are Agriculture, Applied Arts, Education, Management, Health and Technology.
The courses taught at the IPCB combine strong practical and technical training with theoretical frameworks at the highest scientific level, preparing competent professionals.The IPCB Schools have high quality facilities and equipment and excellent sports and cultural facilities. The teaching staff proves to be of high scientific, technical and pedagogical competence.
The development of the IPCB, is based on pillars clearly identified in its need for high levels of quality and its being internationally recognised. In addition to adopting the standards of the European Association for Quality Assurance for Higher Education (ENQA) and the recommendations of the European University Association (EUA), the Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute has its Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001:2008. Despite the results achieved, it is important that these levels of demand are strengthened and visible in the institution's mission, because that is the only way to ensure that IPCB challenges and tests each of us individually and the entire academic community collectively: lecturers, students, non-teaching staff and external agents.
The availability of a wide range of study opportunities, strong links to the business world, educational, social and cultural worlds, to our close coordination with the labour market, the transfer of knowledge and technology and the strategy of internationalisation, guarantee our graduates a comprehensive training through the acquisition and development of scientific and technical, linguistic, relational and cultural skills, thus preparing them to respond competitively to the demands of a borderless labour market, but also providing them with requirements to create and develop themselves, by encouraging creativity and entrepreneurship. The provision of lifelong learning programs also allow for those who are already higher education holders or who are already in the labour market, the necessary adaptation to new challenges and new requirements.
We know the scale of the challenges and we are fully aware of the role and responsibility of the IPCB in the country's future and development of the region. But we assume this condition and the commitment to lead this project serving knowledge and the people.
