Overview

Applicants must meet general requirements of the UBC Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, hold current registration as a Registered Nurse in British Columbia, and have completed a minimum of three years of clinical practice as a registered nurse.

We seek applicants with demonstrated clinical excellence, and autonomous action.

The UBC School of Nursing, Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) Program from University of British Columbia, offers studies with a community of professors and clinicians at the forefront of primary care. This two year full-time on-campus program leads to the degree of Master of Nursing and is recognized by the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. Program completion creates eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in BC.

General requirements

All applicants have to submit transcripts from all past post-secondary study. Document submission requirements depend on whether your institution of study is within Canada or outside of Canada.

A minimum of three references are required for application to graduate programs at UBC. References should be requested from individuals who are prepared to provide a report on your academic ability and qualifications.

This program contains a practicum component for which a criminal record check is required.

Permanent Residents of Canada must provide a clear photocopy of both sides of the Permanent Resident card.
