Career paths

University of Sydney's course is recognised by both the Australian Institute of Architects and the Commonwealth Association of Architects. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the NSW Architects Registration Board after completing the requisite amount of practical experience and passing the Architectural Practice Examination.

Our school alumni performed diverse careers in architecture, from serving as project architects and studio directors to founding their own firms on various scales. Many also serve as leading professionals in public institutions as well as consultants in private sectors and emerging practices across disciplines. Their roles include government architects, design review panelists, indigenous architects, façade engineers, digital fabrication specialists, BIM managers, model-making experts, design strategists, computational designers, and architectural journalists, among many others.
