Overview

 International Studies program of the National Chengchi University important strength of the program is the political, cultural, and intellectual diversity of its faculty and students. It therefore encourages applications from prospective students who welcome the chance to interact with fellow scholars who bring a variety of understandings, views, experiences, and judgments to the study of international affairs. IMPIS’s focus on International Relations Theory also challenges students to examine and think through their basic methodological and theoretical assumptions, and the program welcomes students who have a strong background in this area.

 Key facts

While IMPIS students generally take courses outside the program, and are encouraged to take advantage of NCCU's premier Mandarin teaching facilities to begin learning Mandarin or to further their Mandarin language skills, all IMPIS courses are taught in English. The program’s capstone Master’s thesis must also be written in English. English language proficiency is therefore required.
