The Faculty of Science is dedicated to advancing the scientific frontier in order to address societal challenges. We work in collaboration with members of the local, national, and international community to inform decisions which impact on issues of environment and sustainability, to build industrial capacity.


The Department of Chemistry offers programs of study that lead to Master of Science (M.Sc.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. All programs are research-based.

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level.     The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.   • Four-year, Bachelor of Science Honours degree in chemistry (or equivalent) from a recognized university, college or institute.
  • An overall average of 75% (B+) or higher in the last two years of the undergraduate degree.
