The Law (GDL) at the BPP University is for non-law graduates, giving you the fundamental legal knowledge and professional skills you need to succeed in your future career as a solicitor or barrister. Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

The entry requirements to study the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at BPP University Law School are:

  • Minimum 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent) in any subject from a recognised UK institution
  • You are guaranteed a place if your honours degree is a 2:1 or above
  • Students without a 2:2 honours degree from the UK or Republic of Ireland are required to evidence that they meet the academic entrance requirements of the relevant professional body. This includes applicants with overseas degrees or mature students without an undergraduate degree

Funding

A student loan, from Future Finance, of between £500 to £40,000 is available to BPP's full and part time GDL students.
