Overview
Digital technology has revolutionized our civilization. The electronics branch of study focuses on the development of related technologies. At the end of their training, Civil Electrical Engineers will be able to use their knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of electricity, electronics and computer science to capture, analyze, transform and transmit information and energy.
The Electrical Engineering, Professional Focus In Electronic Systems And Devices degree from University of Liège has 120 credits, including 30 credits dedicated to the Electronics Systems and Devices specialization chosen by the student.
The aim of the "Electronics Systems and Devices" master's degree in civil electrical engineering is to acquire skills in sensor technology, electronic circuit design and data transmission. This course offers the skills needed to implement, for example, an on-board camera on a drone, whose data is processed and then transmitted to a receiving station.
An integrated 300-hour project is carried out throughout the first year of the Master's program, providing practical, cross-disciplinary knowledge. A multi-disciplinary team of students tackles a specific real-life problem. A recent project aims to implement solar panels that power a greenhouse, and follow the sun's movement to capture light in the best possible way. Another project aims to automate crop irrigation by measuring soil moisture with sensors.
Career
Career prospects for Electrical Engineers are numerous and varied.
They relate to major sectors of economic activity, notably including robotics, telecommunications, the efficient use of electrical energy and audio and video applications.
