What will you study on this Master's in Family Medicine?
The online MSc in Family Medicine comprises 180 Level 7 credits completed over two years. The first 120 credits provide structured postgraduate study across six Family Medicine modules, followed by a further 60 credits focused on research methods, critical appraisal, and an independent Professional Project.
During the taught stage of the programme, you’ll examine health and disease across different stages of life and areas commonly encountered within Family Medicine and primary care. This begins with epidemiology, disease prevention, screening, vaccination, and health promotion before progressing through women’s and sexual health, child health, adult health, mental health, and cancer and palliative care.
You’ll consider common presentations, diagnosis and management, preventative approaches, recognition of emergencies and red flags, psychological interventions, and multidisciplinary care within the context of Family Medicine. Throughout your studies, you’ll critically evaluate evidence and consider its relevance to healthcare practice.
