Overview

Questions you may posit may deal with all kinds of philosophical issues, ranging from ancient hypotheses or more contemporary theories on society, human nature, or politics. You will be tasked with researching and writing on the topic of your choosing and you will be trained, by extension, to develop proficiency within a broad scope of topical issues within the field, whether that be a completely new perspective that you would like to explore or any existing theory that you would prefer building upon.

Career:

As a graduate holding the MA in Philosophy from University of Malta , you will be able to enter careers, both locally and internationally, as a teacher, editor, technical writer, publisher, political analyst and as an HR manager. The course can also prove useful if you would like to become an attorney, psychologist and economist, provided that you have the necessary requirements.

If you would like to enter an academic career and carry out academic research in the area, then you may opt to enrol in a doctorate programme offered at the University of Malta, or at a foreign university abroad.

Applicants must be in possession of:

the degree of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with Second Class or better in the same or in a closely related area of study as the area of study applied for,provided that the Board may consider applicants in possession of the Degree with Third Class Honours only if it is satisfied that such applicants are in possession of other qualifications, including relevant experience, obtained following the first cycle degree or
the degree of Bachelor of Arts in the same or in a closely related area of study as that applied for, with an average mark of not less than 55% in that area or

a degree from this or from another university which the Board considers as comparable to any of the degrees indicated in paragraphs (a) and (b) above.
