The Restoration Ecology - Negotiated Learning from University College Dublin equips students with the scientific, analytical, and practical skills required to address ecosystem degradation and support ecological recovery nationally and internationally. This interdisciplinary programme combines restoration ecology, landscape ecology, spatial analysis, environmental policy, and socioecological systems thinking with hands-on fieldwork and engagement with industry and public-sector practitioners. Students may pursue either a research-focused pathway through an independent thesis (Stream A) or a practice-oriented pathway through an internship and desk study (Stream B).

A structured Negotiated Learning pathway allows students to tailor option modules to specific restoration themes and career goals, preparing graduates for careers in consultancy, conservation, policy, research, and environmental management.
