- Sessions also include opportunities for trainees to reflect on their individual development both in university and on placement. MFL sessions throughout the academic year aim to develop subject knowledge, introduce pedagogies, promote pupil progress and support trainees with both their academic assignments and classroom practice. MFL sessions strive to be inclusive, model best practice, and be research informed enabling trainees to become involved in critical discussion which supports the WTV of intellectual curiosity.
- You will be taught by an experienced MFL educator with two decades of teaching experience. Pedagogy covered includes effective lesson planning, teaching using the target language, formative assessment and responsive teaching, adaptive teaching, teaching at KS3, KS4 and KS5 and developing metacognition. These sessions, alongside others, equip you with essential skills to excel as a trainee MFL teacher.
- You will develop your subject content, curriculum and pedagogical knowledge and understanding allowing you time to develop your skills and knowledge of what it is to be an effective MFL teacher. You will begin to engage with your emerging teacher identities, values and philosophies, moving yourselves towards independence and enabling yourselves to develop resilience. The PGCE Secondary with Modern Foreign Languages (with QTS) programme is offered at University of Warwick.
