- You will be taught by experienced mathematics educators with research and publications in areas related to practitioner research, teaching for mastery, maths anxiety and mathematical resilience, and teacher resilience. Building on your subject and pedagogy knowledge, you will engage in subject sessions linking theory to practice. Pedagogy covered includes effective lesson planning, addressing mathematical misconceptions, developing metacognition and teaching for creativity, equipping you with essential skills to excel as a trainee mathematics teacher.
- You will benefit from dedicated mentoring by experienced Mathematics teachers in our partner schools and engaging guest lectures from these schools, fostering your development into a research-informed and creative maths teacher. Our collaboration with the regional Maths Hub on teaching for mastery further enriches the course, providing valuable practical and theoretical insights into mathematics education. The PGCE Secondary with Mathematics (with QTS) programme is offered at University of Warwick.
