Key facts

You will be taught by an experienced Computer Science educator with an extensive background in both further education and state schools in the Midlands. With your degree in Computer Science or in a similar Computing discipline, you will engage in a series of interactive workshops that seamlessly integrate theoretical foundations with practical applications. You will cover pedagogy which could include teaching programming, delivering unplugged computing lessons, resolving misconceptions and using project-based learning. These could help you be grounded in the essential skills to become a great trainee Computer Science teacher.
Through dedicated mentoring by skilled Computer Science teachers in our partner schools, you will have the opportunity to become a research-informed, proficient, and a creative, socially just educator. The Computer Science course is further enriched by guest lectures from experts and visits to local establishments providing insights into computing education from both an academic and theoretical perspective. The PGCE Secondary with Computer Science (with QTS) programme is offered at University of Warwick.
