Overview

Gender, Society and Culture from  University of Malta   is designed as having a predominantly taught component, culminating with a research element in the form of a dissertation, which allows you to engage at a deeper level in a particular area of interest with a selected supervisor.

You are expected to cover all the prescribed readings and participate fully in all activities related to the programme. You are advised to keep pace with the work set, allowing sufficient time for any research work and/or revision.

The programme of studies for the course consists of a taught component totalling 60 ECTS credits and a research component to which 30 ECTS credits are assigned.

Career:

The programme is designed to support people who wish to broaden their worldview, as they build their career - within government departments, ministries and agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private companies. Government policy is based on gender mainstreaming and gender mainstreaming is essential in order to access EU Funds, attain higher visibility and inject equity into all spheres of work. You will return to your discipline with a solid understanding of how gender plays a significant and mainstreamed role in that area.
