The fusion of cells throughout a human's lifetime are grouped into 250 different cell types which are then further categorised into four basic tissues, providing a complex organ system that makes up the body as a whole. Understanding the molecular aspects that give rise to orchestrated cell function is a means to be better informed in enhancing and providing novel ways to treat diseases, such a cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke and neurodegenerative disorders, the four major causes of a premature end to life.

Career:

As a graduate of Molecular Medicine from University of Malta, you will be geared for the exciting and expanding field of molecular medicine. The M.Sc. will foster eligibility as a potential PhD candidate in the area of addictions.

By the end of the postgraduate course you will be able to:

critically engage with the conceptual complexities of molecular medicine.
be conversant with the theoretical frameworks developed to explain molecular pathways within cells and the advantages and disadvantages of the laboratory methods to do so

A first cycle degree obtained with at least a Second Class (Honours) or Category II classification, in an area related to the life sciences or any other area of study deemed relevant by the board.
Applicants whose first degree was obtained more than 10 years previous to their application for the Course may also be admitted, provided that they produce sufficient proof of their competence to follow the Course with profit.
