Overview

The Master of Management (Research) is designed for students who want to work on a substantive research problem with the rigour of a doctoral programme but over a shorter horizon. Students work closely with a faculty supervisor on a defined research question, develop the methodological skills to address it, and produce output that meets the standards of peer-reviewed publication.

The programme from Indian Institute of Science is particularly suited to students drawn to a specific research area — AI for organisations, energy policy, financial modelling, health systems, or water governance, — who are not yet ready to commit to a full PhD but want more than a taught programme. For those who wish to continue, the programme provides a natural foundation and pathway into doctoral study.
