The Department of Mathematics carries out research across a broad range of modern and traditional mathematics and we have a high level of engagement in interdisciplinary research and with industry.

The team comprises of a main supervisor, at least one co-supervisor, and an advisor. The aim of the Mathematical Sciences programme offered by The University of Manchester is to turn you into a competent independent researcher and the thesis you will write at the end of your programme should evidence this fact.
