Overview
Precision Medicine is care tailored to the individual, using differences in genes, environment and lifestyle to guide prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The understanding of the molecular basis of disease and drug mechanisms has advanced rapidly, making it possible to move beyond "one size fits all" approaches.
The challenge is that there are not enough scientists who can turn these discoveries into real clinical benefit. The aim of the Precision Medicine programme offered by The University of Manchester is to train the next generation of scientists to translate biological insights into advanced therapies and diagnostic tools.
