The Master's program's primary objective is to train young researchers capable of providing competitive services and research in topics such as prehistory, paleoanthropology, geology, and paleontology, methods applied to prehistoric and archaeological research, Quaternary geology and paleontology, and the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage.
The Master's program in Quaternary and Prehistory from University of Ferrara prepares professionals with appropriate backgrounds in scientific research, methods, and the ancient history of humanity, interpreted from a cultural and naturalistic-prehistoric perspective. Graduates also possess an interdisciplinary approach to the state of prehistory research, a skill acquired at one of Europe's leading institutions. - Eligible fields: Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, Humanities, History, Geology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines
- Knowledge of archaeological methods and research approaches
- Background in historical studies (prehistory to medieval periods)
- Basic scientific knowledge in geo-sciences or natural sciences
- Basic IT skills
- Familiarity with excavation, survey, or fieldwork methods
- Knowledge of at least one foreign language
- Italian language level B2 required for international students
- Evaluation of CV and academic background by admissions committee
- Possible interview (colloquio) for assessment of preparation and motivation
- Additional coursework (up to 30 CFU) may be required for non-related degrees
- Admission based on merit and academic suitability
- Possible minimum grade consideration (~95/110 or equivalent)
