Overview

The Geology curriculum from University of Lisbon includes coherent and flexible teaching-learning pathways that balance:

transversal core components, complementing the basic training that enables the exercise of the profession in broad and competitive labor market contexts

specific advanced approaches that differentiate specialized options and project potential scientific and professional vocations; and
analyses that value innovative perspectives and/or methodologies in different domains of Geology and/or inter-transdisciplinary interfaces, opening new frontiers of knowledge.

Competencies: Integrated and multi-scale (space and time) analysis of the constitution, organization, and dynamics of geological systems. Recognition of the implications and applications of geological knowledge, observing its social and economic relevance. Characterization and interpretation of geological processes and products, including quantitative approaches to geological processes and their interface with other areas of knowledge.

Holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent. Legal equivalents to a bachelor's degree are considered to be the equivalencies and recognitions of qualifications awarded under Decree-Law No. 283/83
Holders of a foreign higher education degree awarded following a 1st Cycle of studies organised in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process;
Holders of a foreign higher education degree that is recognised as satisfying the objectives of a bachelor's degree by the Scientific Council of the school where they wish to be admitted;
Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognised as attesting to their ability to complete this cycle of studies by the Scientific Council of the school where they wish to be admitted.
