Overview
Over the past few decades, the Sociology from University of Agriculture Faisalabad has dynamically and timely responded to desirable input for policy and research support for the uplift of rural masses, increased food security and need-based educational and curricular development. The recent phasing out of the Faculty was a result of serious debate and policy discussions in order to address wide range of issues including socioeconomic development, demographic and gender-based challenges, vocational education and outreach, community development and extension for sustainable agriculture.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Familiarize with major sociological research methods and appreciation of their relevance to a range of social research problems
- Develop an understanding of various research techniques employed in the social sciences, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Discuss an appreciation of the strengths, limitations, and ethical concerns of each research strategy.
- Develop an ability to evaluate the methodological validity of sociological knowledge claims.
