Film Production from Addis Ababa University program designed to address both the craft of production and the critical analysis of the film is intended to create a critical mass of Ethiopian Filmmakers capable of producing images that matter, and Film Scholars capable of developing critical literature that can stimulate and strengthen the growth of a viable Ethiopian Film industry that speaks to the world about Ethiopia with an Ethiopian voice.

The Graduate Film Program at Addis Ababa University, the first of its kind in Ethiopia, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of filmmakers who are equipped with the creative, technical, and critical skills necessary to shape the future of cinema in Ethiopia and beyond. Offering a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production, the program strives to empower students to tell compelling stories that reflect diverse perspectives, rich cultural heritage, and the dynamic realities of the contemporary world. The program is committed to fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, where students can explore the art and craft of filmmaking, develop their unique voices, and contribute to the global cinematic landscape.
