Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in development studies, Governance, Sociology and Social Work, Policy Studies, Rural Development, Economics, Urban Planning, Area Studies, Community Development, Geography, or related fields from a recognized university. Program Title: Doctor of Philosophy in Railway Engineering and Management (Railway System Management) PhD in Railway Engineering and management (Railway System Management) is a four-year post graduate program that studies Railway System Management. The students will equip with both theoretical and practical knowledge, and can conducting research, analyzing data, and synthesizing findings to contribute to the advancement of railway system management knowledge.

- The applicant shall have a M.Sc.in railway engineering (Traction and Train Control), M.Sc.in railway engineering (infrastructure), M.Sc.in railway engineering (Rolling Stock), or equivalent or Engineering related MSc degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 from a recognized institution, and pass an entrance examination administered by African Railway Centre of Excellence (ARCE). Foreign applicants whose native language is other than English and the medium of instruction not English, a language test for proficiency is required.
