Hydrogeology from Addis Ababa University is a two-year program in the School of Earth Sciences.

Our comprehensive program having strong industry connections provides students with essential skills in groundwater resource study, water well drilling management both for water supply and irrigation use.

Graduates of the program are serving the water sector of the country at different levels from woreda water bureau to regional bureau levels and at Federal level in different consulting firms and Ministry of Water Resources. They are also high level managers and leaders in a number of private and government water well drilling companies. They can also pursue careers worldwide in water supply industry. MSc Program in Hydrogeology incorporates theoretical concepts with practical applications to prepare students to address complex hydrogeological, environmental, and water well drilling challenges. It also equips them with the expertise to become competent, ethical, and professional hydrogeologists.

Applicants should hold a BSc degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related fields having two years or more experience in groundwater study and /or water well drilling projects. Students must pass the National Graduate Admission Test (NGAT) and school entrance examinations.
