Applied Geoinformatics from Addis Ababa University graduate student will have scientific and technical skills and sufficient knowledge of spatial data (including satellite data) processing, interpretations and thematic mapping.

Students will also acquire attitudinal and behavioral capacity to appreciate and apply modern computer and space technologies in natural resource management and protection of the environment. At the end of the program, the candidates’ will have an ability to participate in geospatial related technologies, policies and strategies.

Admission requirement for the program is as per the Addis Ababa University’s legislation specifically to the Graduate Program, acceptable performance in the entrance examination, preference to candidates with relevant work experience.
The specific requirements are the following but not limited to: a BSc or BA degree in Geology/Earth Sciences, Applied Geography, Agriculture, Forestry, Soil Science, Hydrology, Ecology, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, and Urban Planning. The choice of the student and the capacity of Departments/Schools/Centers as well as GAT (Graduate Admission Test) offered by the University.
