Students will receive a foundational knowledge in general pharmacology, cellular and molecular toxicology, veterinary pharmacotherapeutics, drug discovery and development, and other supportive fields that enable them to address key veterinary issues including the use of antimicrobial and alternatives in food animals, veterinary drug efficacy and safety, antimicrobial resistance, and environmental toxicants with multidisciplinary approaches. Students will also receive hands-on laboratory experiences and conduct original research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

- Admission requirement for the program is based on Addis Ababa University’s rules and regulations governing graduate programs.
- The program is open to candidates with a doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM), BSc or BVSc in veterinary pharmacy, veterinary sciences or Veterinary Laboratory Technology, and BSc in pharmacy, biological or chemical sciences or health-related fields. Candidates are required to pass the graduate admission test (GAT) and university entrance examination
