General requirements

The applicant must have: B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from recognized higher learning institutions who meets other requirements set by the school/chair and by Graduate Studies office of Addis Ababa University. Pass an entrance examination administered by the chair(must score minimum 50% )
Applicants should be able to take the Graduate Admission Test (GAT) of the AAU and get a passing mark. Alternatively, standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, ACT, SAT, or LSAT and with the corresponding passing marks are acceptable.
Submit a letter of intent for joining the Master’s or the PhD program.
Applicants will submit two (2) letters of recommendation from former university instructors or professors.

Produce, as may be required, certificate of work experience related to the desired field of study.
