Overview
Clinical Trials from Addis Ababa University program aims to provide students with a deep understanding and skills of key decisions in designing, executing, and interpreting clinical trials while adhering to regulatory and legal frameworks. Graduates are expected to lead, monitor and regulate clinical trials in pharmaceutical industries, regulatory bodies, contract research organizations, research institutes, and academia.

The program features modular coursework, seminars, industry attachments and internships, and an MSc thesis, all completed over one and half to two years. The ideal applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or life sciences, such as pharmacy, public health, nursing, biology, Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM), or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
Candidates with a Bachelor’s in Statistics are also eligible. Additional qualifications, with or without a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, may be considered if relevant, such as a MSc in Public Health, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Statistics, or a Doctor of Pharmacy. Ideally, as this is a need-based program, candidates should have one to two years of relevant experience post-graduation and should join the program with prior exposure to address specific challenges they have encountered.
