Description

The Master in Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy (Research) program from MARA Technological University requires students to undertake a major research project under supervision and to submit a thesis. Students gain research skills and expertise in their area of research interest and demonstrate their outstanding academic ability and commitment to occupational therapy through the completion of the degree. Current areas of research include geriatric, cognitive training, cognitive stimulation and rehabilitation, neurology, work-rehabilitation, applied ergonomics, mental health, sexuality, pediatric, physical rehabilitation, and psychosocial rehabilitation.

General requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the UiTM Senate; OR

A Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR

A Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.
All candidate applying for admission into this programme is required to submit a research proposal to the faculty. The acceptance of a candidate shall be at the discretion of the UiTM Senate, whose decision shall be final.
