Overview
Mechanical Engineering from University of Calabria is structured over two years. The first year, dedicated to an in-depth study of the core disciplines characterizing the field of mechanical engineering, includes courses common to the various available curricula. The second year, however, guides students in acquiring knowledge and skills specific to their chosen curriculum.
Quick Facts:
- Training is delivered primarily through lectures, exercises, and workshops, but also through interdisciplinary projects, internships, or placements at public or private institutions, companies, and professional associations affiliated with the degree program. Students may also participate in various international mobility programs.
- The 120 credits required for graduation are earned primarily through oral and/or written exams. Additionally, 9 to 15 credits (depending on the chosen curriculum) are available for the student's electives, and 15 to 18 credits are required for the final exam. This consists of the preparation and presentation of a theoretical, design, and/or experimental thesis, under the guidance of one or more supervisors and any co-supervisors.
- The thesis must demonstrate in-depth study of the topics and the ability to apply the findings to the design, organization, and management of the production phase typical of mechanical engineering.
