This is a one-of-a-kind program which has been curated based on the diverse expertise under MISHA: English, European Studies, History, Philosophy, and Sociology. The wide-ranging courses under the program span from contemporary literary and digital cultures to European politics and society, from Indian philosophical texts to Continental systems of thought, from theoretical orientation to training in fieldwork and in archives.

With a research-driven pedagogy that blends interactive learning, MOOCs, and self-directed study, this program strikes a thoughtful balance between multidisciplinary breadth and domain expertise. The program is equipped with study abroad opportunities and dual-degree options with international partner universities.

Through faculty mentorship that includes the writing of a substantive thesis, students cultivate deep disciplinary knowledge alongside broad-based research capabilities that serve in academia and beyond. The writing of this thesis provides the requisite skills to a pathway to doctoral research in India and abroad.
