Overview
Key Facts
The Literary Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev explores British and American literature and other literature in English (or translated into English) in the context of cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, and comparative approaches. The courses are taught by internationally renowned scholars who employ various theoretical and cultural approaches. Students come from multiple backgrounds, creating a pluralistic academic community. The informal atmosphere in a relatively small department provides a nurturing learning environment, allowing for individual attention and guidance.
The program familiarizes students with current research topics in the field; engages them in academic discourse, research methodologies, and critical reasoning; and trains them in academic writing and usage of literary criticism and relevant theories. Students in the thesis track conduct original research and contribute to knowledge in the field.
