Along with providing diagnostic services, specialized treatment and cosmetic enhancement, a robust teaching Dermatology, Venerology and Leprosy programme from Manipal Academy of Higher Education and research activities attracts the trainees as well.

State of art treatment facilities like phototherapy (with bath-PUVA facility, narrow band UVB, hand foot unit, targeted phototherapy) and iontophoresis are available. Dermatosurgery is an important aspect of training; various surgical procedures like vitiligo surgery, nail surgery, microdermabrasion and cryosurgery are frequently performed in the department.
