Overview
The Master in Adult Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (MACPP) at University of Minho aimed that students develop an informed scientific and clinical reasoning based on theoretical and empirical knowledge, on the contextualized practice and ethical responsibility. This master aims to provide students with opportunities for an intensive training on clinical skills of assessment and psychological intervention with adults, using high-quality scientific-pedagogical methodologies and a training path of progressive approximation to real contexts of clinical practice with adults.
Careers
The Master's degree in Adult Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy allows access to 3rd cycle courses in the field of Psychology, especially qualifying doctoral candidates in the scientific areas of Clinical Psychology or Applied Psychology. The degree of Master in Adult Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy allows access to the internership of Portuguese Psychologists Association, necessary to access the professional practice, as defined by the European guidelines. Based on the training provided in this master program, it is expected that the graduates may develop their professional practice in health and mental health contexts: Departments of Psychiatry or Psychology in General Hospitals, Psychiatric Hospitals, Mental Health Centers; Primary Care Centers, Private Clinics, Community Services associated with City Councils, Psychology Associations with clinical services.Programme Structure

General requirements
According to Decree-Law 65/2018, from August, 16, and to the Portuguese Psychologists Association’ s regulations (Law 138/2015, September, 7), the candidate should present one of the following mandatory requirements:a) holding a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Psychological Science (s) or legal equivalent;b) holding a foreign high education degree after completing a 1st cycle of studies in Psychology or Psychological Science(s) accordingly to the Bologna Process and be delivered by a State Member or legal equivalent;c) holding a foreign high education degree recognized as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Psychological Science(s) or legal equivalent;d) holding an educational, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by Scientific Council of the School of Psychology at the University of Minho as demonstrating the candidate´s ability to enroll in this master cycle of studies.
