Overview
The objective of Master in Engineering and Operations Management at University of Minho it is intended to:
(i) provide students with solid and specialized training in Engineering and Operations Management, which facilitates their integration into the labor market and enhances their professional career;
(ii) deepening skills in the autonomous conduct of basic and applied research in the fields of Engineering and Operations Management, guided by theoretical or practical problem-solving objectives;
(iii) to provide graduates with traditional training, particularly in Engineering areas, with a reconversion of skills that meets their professional needs.
(iv) create conditions for the development of R&D activities in the field of Engineering and Operations Management, taking into account the specificities of the knowledge domains that comprise it;
(v) prepare Master's students for a professional career in the private, public or social sectors;
(vi) contribute to the critical reflection of current and future social problems, using methodologies specific to Engineering and Operations Management;
(vii) promote the potential for innovation through advanced human capital training and the transfer of research results.
Key learning outcomes
This course aims to train professionals capable of:
1. apply advanced knowledge of Engineering and Operations Management to solve concrete problems in the business reality, in innovative, complex environments and in global competition;
2. elaborate analyzes and opinions with theoretical, methodological and empirical consistency;
3. understand the theoretical and empirical literature published by international reference publications in the field of Engineering and Operations Management;
4. transfer, use and create new knowledge in the field of Engineering and Operations Management.
5. communicate, in a clear way, the conclusions of the work developed, knowledge and rationality underlying them, to different audiences.
6. demonstrate personal skills in the domains of leadership, interpersonal communication and teamwork.

One of the following conditions:a) Holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent in Engineering, Management, Economics, Sciences and related areas;b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree awarded following a first cycle of studies organised in accordance with the Bologna principles by a State adhering to this process, in the areas defined in a);c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognised by the Scientific Council of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho as satisfying the objectives of a bachelor's degree, in the areas defined in a);d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum recognised by the Scientific Council of the School of Engineering as attesting to their ability to complete this cycle of studies.
