Modern Languages and Literatures - General from UCLouvain provides advanced study of the culture, linguistics and literature of the two chosen languages.

Key facts:

You will take your knowledge of the two languages to a high level. By the end of the training, you will reach the European level of ‘Proficient User’ in both languages.To achieve this objective, your training is practice-focussed : languages courses in the target language, exercises in the language lab, individual work and seminars on advanced issues, writing your dissertation in one of the two languages, opportunity to have a study visit abroad (ERASMUS), etc.

Student must hold a first level university degree.
Candidates must provide proof of sufficient proficiency in a Germanic language (among English, German, Dutch) at level C1 in reception (written and oral comprehension) and B2 in production (written and oral) of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Candidates must also provide proof of sufficient proficiency in a Romance language (among French, Spanish, Italian) at level B2 (if Spanish or Italian) or C1 (if French) (*) of the Common European Framework of Reference.
